Sachin Malik: The Chief Minister met the Union Minister at Kartavya Bhavan in New Delhi and held detailed discussions on various important issues, keeping in view Uttarakhand geographical conditions and vulnerability to natural disasters.
He requested that the supply of commercial LPG cylinders be maintained at 100% to ensure the uninterrupted, safe and Smooth conduct of the Char Dham Yatra. He informed that during the yatra season, which runs from April to November, lakhs of Pilgrims from across India and abroad visit the State, leading to a significant rise in the demand for commercial LPG. During this Period, the State requires approximately 967,949 commercial LPG Cylinders.
The Chief Minister further Stated that between June and September, the state faces natural disasters every year due to the monsoon. Given the mountainous terrain and difficult conditions, LPG Plays a crucial role in disaster management and relief operations. In this context, he requested an additional 5% allocation of commercial LPG Cylinders (around 48,397 Cylinders) to ensure effective and Prompt relief and rescue Operations.
He also highlighted that Uttarakhand Economy is largely dependent on tourism, including religious tourism, Pilgrimage and adventure tourism. The Char Dham Yatra is a key Pillar of the State faith, cultural identity and economic activity.
The Union Minister assured that all the Proposals Presented by the Chief Minister would be considered Positively and reiterated the Central Government commitment to Safeguarding the interests of the State.
