Sachin Malik: The Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh S.P. Goyal, reviewed the Preparations for the various events and activities to be organized on June 21 to mark the 12th International Day of Yoga. He directed all departments to work in Close coordination to ensure the successful and large-Scale organization of the Celebrations.
The Chief Secretary instructed that Grand Yoga events be organized at every district headquarters, tehsil, block, urban local body and Gram Panchayat across the State. He emphasized that culturally and historically Significant locations Should be given Priority as venues for these events. He also Stressed the need to transform Yoga into a People movement by ensuring active Participation from all age Groups.
He announced that “Yoga Week” will be observed across Uttar Pradesh from June 15 to June 21. During this Period, daily community Yoga sessions based on the Common Yoga Protocol will be conducted every morning at district headquarters, tehsils, blocks and Gram Panchayats. Describing Yoga as the foundation of a healthy and balanced lifestyle, he directed officials to maximize Public Participation through radio Jingles, Social media campaigns, banners, Yoga Selfie campaigns and other awareness Initiatives.
The Chief Secretary further instructed that banners and informational materials Promoting the International Day of Yoga be displayed at hospitals, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Police Stations, bus Stations, urban local bodies, Gram Panchayats and other Prominent Public Places.
He also directed that yoga workshops and online training Programmes be organized with the support of Yoga experts and Non-Governmental organizations (NGO), While ensuring the Participation of Resident Welfare Associations (RWA). As Part of the Yoga Awareness Fortnight, activities such as Yoga rallies, morning Processions, interactive Yoga sessions, Quizzes, Poster-making, Slogan-Writing and essay competitions Should be conducted, with winners being felicitated. Special emphasis Should be Placed on the use of eco-friendly Yoga materials during all Events.
The Chief Secretary instructed that details and Photographs of Yoga-related activities be uploaded daily to the designated online Portals. He also urged officials to encourage maximum Public Participation in the Guinness World Records attempt Scheduled for June 14.
During the meeting, Principal Secretary, AYUSH, Ranjan Kumar Presented the roadmap for Yoga Week. He informed that the State and district-level inaugural ceremonies would be held on June 15. On June 16, mass Yoga sessions and competitions in Schools and colleges would be organized. June 17 would be observed as Ayush Gram Yoga Day, featuring Yoga sessions and health Check-up camps in Gram Panchayats. On June 18, special Yoga sessions would be conducted in Prisons, orphanages and Slum areas. June 19 would witness collective Yoga sessions in Government and corporate offices, While June 20 would focus on women health through Yoga workshops in colleges and Hospitals.
He further Stated that on June 21, the International Day of Yoga would be celebrated with the State-level flagship event at the Raj Bhavan Lawn and Residency Complex, while district-level mass Yoga sessions would be organized at district headquarters across the State.
The Principal Secretary also informed that the Ministry of AYUSH, in collaboration with Habuild HealthTech Private Limited, will organize an online Yoga session on June 14, from 6:15 a.m. to 7:35 a.m. as Part of the Guinness World Records attempt. Citizens wishing to Participate can register by Giving a missed call to the toll-free number 1800-315-7008. After registration, Participants will receive the session link via WhatsApp. Each Participant must log in using their own Personal device, as every registered device will be counted toward the official Record.
