New Delhi: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday accused the Congress of issuing death threats to PM Narendra Modi through a slogan ahead of the grand old party’s rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Party leader Pradeep Bhandali shared the clip on his social media account, calling it Congress’s extremist mindset.

Speaking to ANI, he said, “In this rally, Congress workers, including members and office-bearers of the women’s wing of one of the states, chanted the slogan, ‘Modi, teri kabar khudegi’… Previously, when Congress leaders and workers raised similar slogans, the people of the country responded with, ‘Modi, tera kamal khilega’… Congress workers are also predicting that just as people in other countries took to the streets and tried to destabilize democracy, something similar could happen in India.”

Cong against people of India: BJP
He added, “In the ‘khushpathiya bachao rally’ held by Congress workers and leaders at Ramlila Maidan, only one thing is common: the Congress party is against the people of the country… The real objective of the Congress party is to create instability in the country…”

The BJP leader further claimed that the switch from issuing death threats to PM Modi to predicting street violence suggested that the Congress leaders were gathering at Ramlila Maidan “to create unrest against Indian democracy and to protect illegal infiltrators.” He i added, “It’s People of India vs Congress now.”

Controversy erupts before Cong’s mega rally
The controversy erupted as the Congress is all set to hold a rally at Ram Lilla Maidan tomorrow. As per Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the rally at Ramlila Maidan marks a “step towards a decisive political battle.” He added, “Our party has organised the ‘Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod’ rally… the Congress party has taken a step towards a decisive battle.”

Vote chori campaigns building over the last several days
It may be noted that the “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” campaign has been building since last several days. Earlier on November 27, tensions increased in Lucknow when Youth Congress workers tried to breach police barricades while protesting over Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
