Agriculture Minister reviews fertilizer availability.
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi reviewed the latest fertilizer availability in the state with departmental officials on Sunday and assured farmers through his social media platforms that adequate fertilizer is available in the state, which is being distributed to farmers in proportion to their land holdings.
Reviewing this, he stated that adequate fertilizer availability has been ensured in the state for the Rabi 2025-26 season. According to the MFMS portal, a total of 35.68 lakh metric tons of fertilizer has been received as of November 2, 2025, of which 9.77 lakh metric tons have been sold. Consequently, the state has a stock of 25.91 lakh metric tons of fertilizer available to meet farmers’ needs. This is an increase of 1.59 lakh metric tons compared to the 24.32 lakh metric tons available during the same period last year.
He stated that the availability and distribution of fertilizers for the Rabi season is being continuously monitored. Currently, 4.35 lakh metric tons of DAP is available, which is 1.94 lakh metric tons more than last year’s corresponding period. 4.80 lakh metric tons of NPK are available, which is 2.60 lakh metric tons more than last year’s corresponding period. Urea availability is 12.71 lakh metric tons. Similarly, SSP availability is 3.03 lakh metric tons. MOP availability is 1.02 lakh metric tons. Of this, cooperative societies have 5.27 lakh metric tons of urea, 1.80 lakh metric tons of DAP, and 1.13 lakh metric tons of NPK.
The Agriculture Minister appealed to farmers that adequate quantities of fertilizer have been made available at fertilizer committees and sales centers. Therefore, instead of standing in large queues, farmers can visit fertilizer committees or private shops at their convenience to purchase fertilizer. Fertilizer will be provided to all farmers according to their land holdings.
