Sachin Malik Gautam Buddh Nagar: In compliance with the directions issued by the Uttar Pradesh Government and the Transport Department, a special enforcement campaign, “Operation Kavach 2.0,” has been launched In Gautam Buddh Nagar against unauthorized and Rule-violating buses operating in the District.
The three-day intensive campaign is being Conducted from September 28 to 30, with the Primary objective of ensuring Passenger Safety, curbing unauthorized transportation and taking Strict action against operators found Violating Prescribed transport Regulations.
On the very first day of the campaign, the Transport Department deployed five Enforcement teams across Gautam Buddh Nagar. The teams conducted surprise inspections at various locations and on different routes to identify buses operating without Proper authorization or in violation of Safety and Transport Norms.
During the enforcement drive, officials took Strict action against Violators and seized 21 buses found to be operating in violation of the applicable rules. The action is being viewed as Part of the department efforts to Strengthen enforcement and Prevent unsafe and unauthorized Passenger transport operations in the District.
Technical Inspection Mandatory Before Release
Transport Department officials have made it Clear that the Seized buses will not be Released merely on Payment of Challans or fines. Given the importance of Passenger Safety, all 21 buses will undergo a detailed technical inspection before any decision is taken regarding their Release.
The vehicles will be released only after they are found to be technically fit and Safe and compliant with AIS-119 (Automotive Industry Standard) norms. The inspection is intended to ensure that buses operating on Public roads meet the required Safety Standards and do not Pose a risk to Passengers or other road Users.
Officials have further warned that Strict enforcement action against operators running unauthorized buses or compromising Passenger Safety will continue beyond the current three-day Campaign.
The Transport Department has also appealed to the Public to exercise caution While Choosing Public transport and to travel only in authorized, Properly inspected and Safe Vehicles. The department emphasized that Passenger Safety remains a key Priority and that Violations of transport and Safety regulations will invite Stringent Action.
