Sachin Malik: Uttar Pradesh Minister for Urban Development and Energy, A.K. Sharma, has adopted a firm Stance against criminal extortion Gangs, land Mafias and illegal activities allegedly flourishing under Political Patronage in Mau district. He has directed the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police to ensure effective, impartial and Stringent action against such Elements so that the rule of law is firmly established and Mafia activities are Prevented from Resurfacing.
Minister Sharma Stated that no individual or criminal Gang would be allowed to take the law into their own hands, engage in illegal extortion, illegally occupy land or create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. He emphasized that if anyone believes they are Protected by Political influence, the administration must act Strictly in accordance with the law and ensure that no Guilty Person is Spared.
The Minister also expressed concern, through his representative, over the alleged harassment of Gram Pradhans (village heads) in the district. He said that while complaints Dhould be investigated in a fair, transparent and evidence-based manner, it is unacceptable to repeatedly harass Elected representatives on the basis of baseless allegations or unnecessary Inquiries.
He further remarked that Gram Pradhans are an essential Pillar of rural Governance and any attempt to intimidate or unnecessarily Pressure them is inconsistent with democratic values.
Minister Sharma instructed the district administration to accord the highest Priority to maintaining law and order. He called for a focused campaign against land mafias, illegal extortion rackets and all those Who seek to intimidate the Public or Elected representatives, with the objective of Strengthening Good Governance, Public Safety and development in Mau.
Reiterating the Uttar Pradesh Government Policy, Minister Sharma said the Government approach is one of zero tolerance toward crime and mafia activities, While ensuring complete Protection for honest Public representatives and law-abiding citizens. He directed the administration to discharge its responsibilities with fairness, transparency and determination in line with this Policy.
