Sachin Malik: Uttar Pradesh Minister for Urban Development and Energy A.K Sharma, Welcomed the State Cabinet decision to Rename Jalalabad, A town under the Municipal Council of Shahjahanpur District, as Parashurampuri. He described the move as a historic Step towards honoring the State rich Cultural, Religious and historical Heritage.
Expressing his Gratitude Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Council of Ministers Sharma Stated that the decision Reflects the aspirations of the People, the long Standing demand of Public Representatives, and the State Glorious Cultural traditions. He said the renaming would Provide renewed Recognition to the historical and religious Significance associated with Lord Parashuram.
Minister Sharma noted that it is widely believed that the birthplace of Lord Parashuram and the Sacred Site of Penance (Taposthali) of Maharishi Jamadagni, located in Shahjahanpur, was renamed Jalalabad during the Mughal Period. For many Years, local Public representatives and residents had demanded that the town be renamed Parashurampuri in honor of Lord Parashuram. With the Cabinet approval, the Sentiments of Millions of devotees and the People of Uttar Pradesh have been acknowledged and Respected.
He further Stated that after the Government of India Granted the required No Objection Certificate (NOC) on the Proposal Submitted by the Urban Development Department, the State Cabinet, under the leadership of the Chief Minister, approved the renaming. According to him, this decision will further Strengthen Uttar Pradesh cultural identity and demonstrates the Government commitment to Preserving and Promoting the State ancient traditions, Religious heritage and historical legacy.
Minister Sharma added that the Government of Uttar Pradesh continues to take initiatives that honor the State Cultural heritage, historical Sites and Public Sentiments While inspiring the Younger Generation to reconnect with India rich Civilizational and Cultural Traditions.
