Sachin Malik Greater Noida: Manual Sweeping sanitation workers employed under Private contractors in Greater Noida have been on Strike, Prompting the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) to intensify efforts to maintain Cleanliness across the City. Acting on the directions of CEO N.G. Ravi Kumar, the Authority has deployed Senior officials from both the Health Department and all eight Project Department work circles to supervise sanitation operations.
Senior officers, including Additional CEO, OSD, Principal General Managers, General Managers, Senior Managers and Managers, have been conducting continuous field inspections to ensure that sanitation services remain unaffected. Contractors found negligent have also been Penalized.
The Strike, Which began on July 1, involves sanitation workers employed by certain contractors Who are demanding a wage hike. To Prevent disruption of civic services, the Authority has mobilized its entire administrative Machinery.
Teams from the Health Department and the Project Department have been assigned responsibility for all eight work circles. Senior Managers and Managers are monitoring sanitation work in their respective areas and ensuring immediate cleaning Wherever Garbage or unhygienic conditions are Found.
Despite the weekly holiday on Sunday, officials remained on the Ground, inspecting different locations and deploying sanitation workers wherever required to maintain Cleanliness.
The inspection drive was led by Additional CEO Srilakshmi V. S. and Sumit Yadav, along with Principal General Manager Sandeep Chandra, General Manager (Health) R.K. Bharti, Senior Managers, Assistant Managers and other Officials.
The Authority has adopted a Strict Stance against contractors failing to maintain sanitation Standards. A Penalty of ₹3 lakh has been imposed on Bimal Raj Outsourcing Private Limited. Of this, ₹2 lakh was imposed for Poor sanitation in Zone-5, while ₹1 lakh was levied for inadequate Cleanliness in Ecotech-3 and Sectors 2 and 3.
To address the Shortage of sanitation workers, duty hours have been extended from 6:00 AM. to 6:00 PM. Door-to-door waste collection continues without interruption, while the number of mechanical Sweeping machines and Garbage collection Vehicles has been increased. Teams from the Horticulture Department and the Quick Response Team (QRT) have also been Deployed.
Contractors have been directed to ensure adequate deployment of sanitation workers and warned that repeated negligence could lead to blacklisting. Accountability will also be fixed on the concerned area in-Charge if sanitation Standards are not Maintained.
The Authority reviews daily sanitation reports every evening under the Supervision of Additional CEO Srilakshmi V.S and Sumit Yadav.
Appealing to residents for cooperation, Additional CEO Srilakshmi V.S. urged citizens to report any Garbage accumulation to the concerned area supervisor. She assured that the Greater Noida Authority remains fully committed to maintaining a Clean city and is making every Possible effort to ensure uninterrupted Sanitation Services.
