Sachin Malik Noida: Acting on the directions of the District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar to Strengthen road Safety and curb traffic violations by heavy commercial Vehicles, the Transport Department carried out another major enforcement drive on Sunday. A special Joint Checking operation was conducted by the Transport Department and the local Police under the Jurisdiction of Sector-126 Police Station.
During the operation, seven overloaded heavy vehicles (trucks/dumpers) found violating transport regulations were intercepted. Strict legal action was taken against all the vehicles under the Motor Vehicles Act (MV Act), and A total compounding Penalty of ₹8.5 lakh was recovered on the spot.
No Compromise on Road Safety: Dr. Udit Narayan Pandey
Leading the enforcement drive, ARTO (Enforcement) Dr. Udit Narayan Pandey Stated that overloaded vehicles not only cause severe damage to roads but also Pose a serious threat to Public Safety and are among the major causes of road accidents. He explained that vehicles carrying loads beyond their Prescribed capacity are at a higher risk of brake failure and Overturning.
Issuing a stern warning, Dr. Pandey said, “Joint teams of the Transport Department and Police are continuously monitoring different routes across the district. Strict legal action will continue against commercial Vehicles involved in Overloading, operating without valid Permits or violating fitness Norms. The administration will follow a Zero-Tolerance Policy against Such Violations.”
The Transport Department also appealed to transporters, vehicle owners and drivers to load Goods only within the Prescribed carrying capacity of their vehicles. Compliance with transport regulations, the department said, will help ensure safer roads and Protect operators from Stringent legal Action.
