Sachin Malik: In compliance with the directions of the and the District Judge/Chairperson of the Shivani Rawat Secretary District Legal Services Authority Gautam Buddh Nagar, conducted the monthly inspection of the District Jail, Gautam Buddh Nagar, today. Deputy Jailer Surjeet Singh was Present during the Inspection.
During the inspection, it was informed that the District Jail, Gautam Buddh Nagar, currently houses 2388 Inmates. The Secretary inspected the Juvenile barracks and interacted with the Juveniles lodged there to obtain information regarding the current Status of their cases. She also inquired about the issues and difficulties they were facing.
The Secretary also inspected the Legal Aid Cell established within the district Jail. During the visit, she reviewed the work being carried out by the inmate Para Legal Volunteer (PLV) and examined the records maintained by the Legal Aid Cell. She assessed the legal aid arrangements available to inmates and issued necessary directions to further Strengthen the legal assistance mechanism within the Prison.
