Sachin Malik: A Meeting of the District-Level Committee of the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) Department was held today at the NIC Auditorium under the Chairmanship of the District Magistrate. The Primary objective of the meeting was to ensure the availability of Pure, Safe and Quality food and beverages to the residents of the district and to Strengthen the effective implementation of the Food Safety and Standards Act.
During the meeting, Assistant Commissioner (Food-II) Sarvesh Kumar Mishra and Chief Food Safety Officer Virendra Dwivedi Presented a detailed report on recent enforcement actions, inspections and food sampling drives conducted across the District.
The District Magistrate directed officials to launch a special campaign for intensive sampling of food and beverage Products in both urban and rural areas. He instructed that if laboratory analysis confirms adulteration in any sample, Strict legal action must be taken against the concerned establishment, including the immediate imposition of Penalties and other Punitive measures as Per the Provisions of the law.
He further directed Food Safety Officers to conduct regular as well as surprise inspections of all food establishments, restaurants, roadside eateries and canteens operating in Schools, Colleges and hostels to ensure that citizens receive hygienic and safe food Prepared in accordance with Prescribed Standards.
The District Magistrate also instructed officials to Prepare and widely disseminate advisories on food fortification, the safe disposal of reused cooking oil and the importance of consuming Pure and safe food and beverages in order to raise Public Awareness.
During the meeting, the Drug Inspector Presented details of the actions taken to ensure the availability of Quality medicines in compliance with Prescribed Standards across the district. The review also emphasized regular and effective inspections of blood banks, medical Stores, Pharmaceutical manufacturing units and cosmetic Products to ensure that citizens have access to safe and high-Quality Medicines.
The District Magistrate further instructed the Food Safety and Drug Administration officials to ensure that Recovery Certificates (RC) are issued within the Stipulated time in all cases Where Penalties have been imposed and that recovery Proceedings are completed without delay. He also directed the Prompt disposal of Pending cases through effective Action.
It was emphasized during the meeting that all concerned departments Should work in Close coordination with full responsibility and commitment to ensure the availability of Pure food Products, Safe beverages and Quality medicines for the People of the District.
Among those Present at the meeting were Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Manglesh Dubey, ADCP Sudhir Kumar, Drug Inspector Jai Singh, In-Charge District Supply Officer Smriti Gautam, Additional Chief Medical Officer Tikam Singh, Food Safety Officers and other officials from the concerned Departments.
