Sachin Malik Greater Noida: Rajeev Kumar Deputy Director of Agriculture Gautam Buddh Nagar, informed that the second farmers’ workshop on Natural Farming was successfully organized at the Jewar Block Campus under the nationwide “Save Farms Campaign” being implemented by the Government of India and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
The campaign, being conducted across the country from June 1 to June 30, 2026 aims to Promote soil health conservation, reduce dependence on Chemical fertilizers and encourage Sustainable agricultural Practices.
The workshop was attended by Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Dr. Vipin Kumar, In-Charge of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), scientists Dr. Bonika Pant and Dr. Sunil Prajapati, Deputy Director of Agriculture Rajeev Kumar and Block Development Officer Ankit Kumar Singh. Progressive farmers, agricultural Scientists, officials from the Agriculture Department and a large number of farmers from the region also Participated in the Event.
The Programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a Welcome address. Scientists from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra explained the concept, Principles and Growing importance of natural farming in the current agricultural scenario. They emphasized that natural farming not only reduces Production costs but also enhances soil fertility, conserves biodiversity and contributes Significantly to environmental Protection.
Addressing the Gathering, MLA Dhirendra Singh said that natural farming has become the need of the hour. He noted that the excessive use of Chemical fertilizers and Pesticides has adversely affected soil Quality while continuously increasing cultivation costs. He described natural farming as a sustainable and Profitable alternative for farmers and urged them to adopt its Practices to build a healthier agricultural system. He also appealed to farmers to help Prevent excessive exploitation of Groundwater resources and Protect the environment from Pollution.
During the workshop, agricultural scientists Provided Practical demonstrations on various components of natural farming, including seed treatment, Preparation of Jeevamrit, Soil health management, crop diversification, utilization of organic waste and natural Pest management techniques. Farmers were also introduced to successful case Studies and Practical experiences of natural farming.
Farmers actively Participated in the interactive session by raising several Questions related to natural farming, Which were answered scientifically by the experts. The Participants also Pledged to adopt natural farming Practices and Promote them in their respective Villages.
The Programme concluded with a vote of thanks to all Guests, farmers and Participants. Agricultural Scientists assured farmers of continued technical Guidance and training on natural farming in the Future.
In his concluding remarks, Deputy Director of Agriculture Rajeev Kumar described the workshop as an important Step towards increasing awareness about natural farming, Promoting soil health conservation and developing a sustainable and Profitable agricultural system. He formally declared the workshop Closed.
