Sachin Malik: Uttar Pradesh Water Resources Minister Swatantra Dev Singh today inspected the Information System Organization (ISO) functioning under the Irrigation and Water Resources Department at Telibagh. During the inspection, he reviewed the monitoring system and technical mechanisms being used for flood Protection works across the State.
The minister Stated that cameras have been installed at flood Protection Project Sites costing more than ₹5 Crore to ensure effective Control and monitoring. Through a Website developed by the Information System Organization (ISO), these cameras have been connected to the internet, enabling 360-degree online monitoring of Projects from both the Lucknow headquarters and district Headquarters.
During the inspection, Minister Swatantra Dev Singh Personally reviewed the ongoing flood Protection works in various districts through the online system. He said that this digital arrangement would ensure 24-hour live monitoring of Projects and enhance transparency and accountability in the execution of Works.
The minister directed officials to complete all flood Protection works within the Stipulated timeframe and maintain high quality Standards so that the Public does not face any inconvenience during the monsoon Season.
Principal Engineer (Planning and Design) Ashok Kumar Singh, Chief Engineer Subhash Singh, and officials of the Information System Organization were Present during the inspection. The officials briefed the minister about the functioning and technical features of the department Website.
During the review, the Water Resources Minister was also informed about the functioning of the Flood Management Information System Centre. Officials Stated that during the rainy season, the centre issues daily water level forecasts for 11 gauge Stations in river basins. Additionally, Satellite imagery is used to assess the condition of embankments and embankment advisories are issued after the Monsoon.
The minister instructed officials to encourage the use of new technologies in the flood forecasting System and appreciated the work carried out so far. He said that the Government objective is to minimize flood-related damage through technology and ensure the Safety of the Public.
He further said that under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the State government is Prioritizing technology-driven and transparent governance to ensure continuous and effective monitoring of Public welfare and development Works.
