Sachin Malik: Following the Meteorological Department warning of severe heatwave conditions and extreme heat in Uttar Pradesh over the next few days, the Health Department has gone into alert mode. The weather department has appealed to People to remain cautious and avoid going out in the sun unnecessarily. In view of this, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has directed all divisional, district, joint, urban and rural hospitals, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, health sub-centres, medical colleges and medical institutions across the State to ensure Proper treatment facilities for heatwave-affected Patients.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said that additional beds Should be arranged in hospitals considering the Possible increase in the number of Patients. Instructions have also been issued to maintain adequate Stock of life-saving medicines and other essential drugs so that Patients can receive timely and accurate treatment during emergencies. The Health Department has directed doctors, Paramedical Staff and other employees to remain fully alert while on Duty.
He further Stated that Providing immediate medical assistance to Patients suddenly affected by heatwave, intense sunlight and extreme heat would be the top Priority. Directions have been given to ensure adequate arrangements of drinking Water, Shade, fans, coolers and other heat Protection facilities for Patients and attendants in all hospital Premises. In districts where Private medical colleges or central government hospitals are operational, Chief Medical Officers have been instructed to establish immediate coordination with the concerned Institutions.
He also said that officials of the medical department Should seek assistance from District Magistrates and other administrative officers whenever required. If the number of Patients affected by heatwave and extreme heat rises suddenly in any district, immediate information Should be sent to the State headquarters and the government so that additional resources can be arranged in time.
Measures to Prevent Heatwave.
Avoid going out in strong sunlight between 12 PM and 4 PM.
Keep the body hydrated and Prevent dehydration.
Drink Plenty of water, lemon water, buttermilk, and ORS Regularly.
Wear light-colored cotton Clothes and Cover the head with a Cloth or Cap.
Do not leave home on an empty Stomach and avoid oily, fried and spicy food.
In case of dizziness, vomiting, high fever or extreme weakness, seek medical advice immediately at the nearest Hospital.
