Deep Concern Over Slow Progress of Construction Projects: Chief Secretary

Sachin Malik: A Meeting of the Project Monitoring Group was held today under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary S.P. Goyal, during which a detailed review of the Progress of under-construction universities in the State was Conducted.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary expressed deep dissatisfaction over the Slow Pace of construction work in various Projects. He directed that an adverse entry be recorded against the concerned Chief Engineer and that strict action be taken against the executing agency as Per rules. He Clearly instructed officials to ensure the required Pace in all construction works and to complete them by May 31 under all circumstances, while maintaining Prescribed Standards and Quality.

During the review, it was informed that the construction work of Maa Vindhyavasini University, Mirzapur has a target completion date of February 11, 2026 while the current Physical Progress Stands at 76%. Similarly, Guru Jambheshwar University, Moradabad has a target completion date of February 23, 2026, with current Progress at 78.53%. The Maa Pateshwari Devi State University, Balrampur Project has a target completion date of December 6, 2025 and its current Physical Progress is 81.50%.

The Meeting was attended by Principal Secretary (Planning) Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary (Higher Education) Mahendra Prasad Agrawal and other Senior Officials.
