Sachin Malik: At the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation headquarters, a Press conference was held in the Presence of Mayor Sunita Dayal, MLA Ajit Pal Tyagi, Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik, and Chief Tax Assessment Officer S.K. Rai. During the conference, several key decisions were Shared, Primarily focusing on Providing relief in house tax for city residents.
Mayor Sunita Dayal announced that concessions on house tax will continue in the interest of the city. Under the revised Policy:
Buildings up to 10 years old will receive a 25% rebate on the determined Annual Rental Value (ARV).
Buildings between 10 to 20 years old will get a 32.5% rebate.
Buildings older than 20 years will be eligible for a 40% rebate.
Additionally, a 2% discount will be given for online Payment of house tax and an extra 10% rebate will be Provided for waste segregation. The existing 20% rebate offered by the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has been extended for three months. Furthermore, 12% interest will not be Charged for a Period of three months, offering additional relief to Residents.
The Municipal Commissioner, while giving a Presentation, elaborated on the relief measures in accordance with government directives. He stated that based on the revised rates compared to Pre-2024 rates, after applying all rebates, the effective increase in house tax for residential Properties would be approximately 10% to 15%. Taxpayers can avail all discounts and Pay their dues with this marginal increase. Without applying any rebates, the tax increase stands at 20%.
It was also Clarified that those who have already Paid their house tax will have adjustments made over the next three years, resulting in reduced Payments in the future.
The Municipal Commissioner instructed all tax department officials and teams to initiate action in line with government directives.
At the conclusion of the Press conference, MLA Ajit Pal Tyagi thanked the media representatives and extended his best wishes regarding the decisions taken by the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation. Citizens were also urged to Pay their house tax, Keeping in mind the development of the City.
