Lucknow: At a Press conference held in the Collectorate auditorium in Jaunpur, Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma elaborated on the achievements of Nine years of the Uttar Pradesh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He stated that the state has undergone a historic transformation—from disorder to governance, from despair to trust and from a “BIMARU” state to a developing one. Today, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a “growth engine” not only within the country but for the entire Nation.
Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the state for their record tenure, Minister Sharma said that the double engine government has delivered unprecedented Progress in every sector. Highlighting improvements in law and order, he said that the rule of law has been firmly established, mafia activities and hooliganism have been effectively controlled and a sense of safety and trust has been restored among the Public.
Speaking on infrastructure and investment, he noted that the international airport being developed in Jewar will give the state global recognition. In terms of women empowerment, women participation has increased significantly from 15% to 36%. In the agriculture sector, Uttar Pradesh ranks first in food grain Production in the country, and sugarcane farmers have received record Payments. Schemes such as the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and free ration distribution have benefited millions, helping many families rise above the Poverty line.
Major Development Boost for Jaunpur.
Highlighting Jaunpur achievements, Minister Sharma said that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, ₹2815 crore has been transferred directly to 9.55 lakh farmers through DBT. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 97,647 houses have been Provided in rural areas and 27,542 in urban areas, while 22,197 families have benefited under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme. Additionally, lakhs of families have received health coverage under Ayushman Bharat and the Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and 9,486 couples have benefited under the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana.
Rapid Growth in Energy, Sanitation and Tourism in Jaunpur.
He further stated that development work worth ₹9.84 crore is underway at Maa Sheetla Chaukiya Dham and other religious sites in the district. Construction of a new district jail is also in Progress at a cost of ₹179.79 crore. In the energy sector, an additional workshop is being set up for transformer repairs to strengthen electricity services. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, 455,837 beneficiaries in rural areas and 8,216 in urban areas have been covered and 1734 community toilets have been Constructed.
Minister Sharma concluded by stating that Uttar Pradesh has witnessed holistic development over the Past nine years, and this Pace of Progress will accelerate further in the coming Years.
