Sachin Malik: The Yogi government is establishing a Sarus Circuit to promote the conservation of the state bird, the Sarus (crane) and to boost eco-tourism in Uttar Pradesh. The Sarus Circuit is being developed in the wetlands of Mainpuri and Etawah districts. Under this project, Sarus Circuit facilities are being created in the wetlands of Kirthua, Sahas, Kurra Jarawan, Sauj and Saman in Mainpuri, along with Sarsai Nawar and Parauli Ramayan in Etawah.
The circuit will combine the conservation of the Sarus crane with eco-tourism activities. Its main objective is to protect the Sarus crane and wetlands while promoting local tourism. This initiative will generate income opportunities for local residents and inspire them to actively participate in the conservation of the Sarus crane and wetlands. These projects are being developed by the state forest department through the UP Eco-Tourism Development Board.
Tourist Facilities Will Increase the Attraction
The Sarus crane, known as the tallest flying bird in the world, is the state bird of Uttar Pradesh. Its habitat and breeding areas are mainly found in the wetlands of Mainpuri, Etawah, Etah and Aligarh districts. Keeping this in mind, the state government is developing the Sarus Circuit to conserve the bird.
Through the UP Eco-Tourism Development Board, the forest department is working to conserve shallow water bodies, ponds and wetlands in the region and make them suitable habitats for the Sarus crane. At the same time, eco-tourism activities are also being developed.
Under this initiative, facilities such as entry gates, view points, decks and boating spots, butterfly gardens, solar site lighting, interpretation centers and Parking areas will be developed in the Sarus Circuit of Mainpuri and Etawah. In addition, information centers, eco-toilet blocks, interactive signage, food kiosks and shops selling ODOP Products and souvenirs will be established for tourists. These facilities will allow visitors to observe and understand the Sarus crane in its natural habitat.
Environmental Awareness Will Increase Among Locals and Tourists
This initiative of the Yogi government will not only ensure the Protection of the Sarus crane but also help conserve other birds such as Grey Heron and Open-billed Stork. It will also Promote the conservation of wetlands in the Region.
The Project will contribute to increasing groundwater levels, reducing the effects of global warming and Promoting sustainable development. Moreover, the development of eco-tourism activities will create income and employment opportunities for local Communities.
As a Result, both local residents and visiting tourists will become more aware and sensitive toward environmental protection and nature conservation. By ensuring safety and Protection for the Sarus crane in its natural habitat, the Yogi government is making a unique effort to Preserve the region biodiversity. These Projects will play an important role in realizing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath vision of sustainable Development.
