New Delhi: Ajay Devgn will return as the saviour of his family, reprising his iconic character, Vijay Salgaonkar, in Drishyam 3. He will yet again be seen facing Tabu’s wrath.
Ajay’s Drishyam franchise, inspired by Mohanlal’s Malayalam films of the same name, has been a hit ever since the Hindi film’s release in 2015.
Drishyam 3: Release date, promo out
On Monday, December 22, Ajay Devgn unveiled the first promo of Drishyam 3, along with the release details. The promo contained partial glimpses of a troubled Vijay maintaining a brave front for his family, as he plots ways to escape Tabu’s wrath as IG Meera Deshmukh and save his family with intelligence acquired from watching films.
For the uninitiated, the film’s release date has been ironically scheduled for October 2, 2026, a date of utmost significance in the film’s plot. “Aakhri hissa baaki hai (The last part is left),” wrote the makers while sharing the announcement.
Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam films are available for streaming on OTT. You can watch the first part of Drishyam (2015) on Netflix. Drishyam 2 (2022), featuring Ajay, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Tabu and Akshaye Khanna, is streaming on Prime Video.
What is the story of Drishyam films?
Drishyam follows the story of Vijay Salgaonkar, a family man who runs a cable business. Quite popular in town, Vijay has had limited access to education but is extremely street-smart. His life turns upside down when his daughter accidentally kills a boy who filmed an intimate video of her at a camp. As fate would have it, the boy happens to be IG Meera Deshmukh’s son.
Vijay has to escape the law and outsmart police officers hunting for the one who killed the IG’s son. How and whether Vijay manages to guard his family from being found follows the crux of the story, spread across two parts.
