Patna : As exit polls predicted a win for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), posters featuring Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with the slogan “Tiger abhi zinda hai” appeared outside the party office on Thursday. The move came just a day before the much-awaited Bihar Assembly election results. Former Bihar minister and JD(U) leader Ranjit Sinha released a poster hailing Kumar as the “protector of Dalits, Mahadalits, backward classes, upper castes and minorities,” with the bold tagline — “Tiger abhi zinda hai (the tiger is still alive).”
The poster reflects the aspirations of party workers who want to see Nitish Kumar return as Bihar’s Chief Minister for a fourth term.
The NDA has faced persistent criticism from the opposition Mahagathbandhan for its delay in announcing a Chief Ministerial candidate. Referring to earlier remarks by Union Minister Amit Shah, RJD leader and opposition’s CM face Tejashwi Yadav has repeatedly asserted that Nitish Kumar will not return as Chief Minister even if the NDA forms the government.
However, several NDA leaders, including members of the BJP, have sought to clarify that the alliance is contesting the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.
During his campaign in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed his support for Nitish Kumar as the leader of the ruling NDA. Union Minister Amit Shah also assured that the BJP would form the government under Nitish’s leadership.
Voting for both phases of the Bihar Assembly elections concluded on November 11, with results scheduled to be announced on November 14.
