New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited the Lok Nayak Hospital in the national capital to meet those injured in the Delhi Red Fort blast. PM Modi landed in Delhi following his Bhutan visit on Wednesday afternoon and went straight to LNJP hospital to meet those injured.

He met and interacted with the injured and wished them a speedy recovery. He was also briefed by officials and doctors at the hospital.

The Prime Minister is also set to chair the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) and the cabinet meeting at around 5:30 pm today to review the situation following the blast that shook the entire nation on Monday evening and claimed at least 12 lives.

During his two-day Bhutan visit, Prime Minister Modi expressed deep sorrow over the deadly car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort and assured that the government will ensure those responsible face the “strictest action.”

“A tragic incident took place in Delhi. I can understand the pain of the families who lost their loved ones,” PM Modi said in Thimphu, adding, “I have come here with a heavy heart. The whole country is standing with the affected families in this hour of grief. Our agencies will go to the bottom of the controversy. All those responsible will be brought to justice.”

The powerful explosion ripped through a parked car near the historic Red Fort on Monday evening, killing 12 people and injuring several others.
