Sachin Malik: Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Agricultural Export, Dinesh Pratap Singh, on Tuesday held a review meeting at the Directorate of Horticulture in Lucknow with departmental officials through virtual mode and with senior officers from the government and directorate in Physical Presence. The meeting focused on Providing compensation under disaster relief management for losses caused to horticultural crops due to various weather-related factors.
During the meeting, the minister directed officials to conduct a Prompt assessment of horticultural crops and orchards affected by adverse weather conditions and immediately send necessary Proposals through district authorities to ensure compensation for farmers under the relevant government orders related to disaster relief management. He instructed district horticulture officers to ensure timely and effective action in this Regard.
It was also decided that in cases where compensation rules are unclear or the Prescribed financial assistance is insufficient, Proposals would be sent to the Relief Commissioner for necessary action so that affected farmers can receive timely Relief.
Reviewing various horticultural development Schemes being implemented by the department, the minister directed officials to ensure effective Publicity and transparent implementation at the district level so that eligible farmers can receive maximum benefits from the Schemes.
The Progress of the International Potato Center being established in Agra was also reviewed during the meeting. The minister instructed officials to expedite Pending works related to the Project and Complete other necessary Projects at the Earliest.
