Rahul Bahraich: The second State Level Late Madan Lal Agarwal Memorial Badminton Tournament, organized under the aegis of the District Olympic Association Bahraich, concluded grandly on Sunday with the final matches and award ceremony.
The chief guest at the ceremony was MP Anand Kumar Gond, while MLC Dr. Pragya Tripathi and MLA Subhash Tripathi were the guests of honor.
At the closing ceremony, the winners and runners-up of the Under-15 and Under-19 boys’ and girls’ singles and doubles categories, as well as the Super Senior category, were honored with trophies, medals and certificates. Players from various districts of the state participated in the competition and the final matches provided spectators with thrilling and high-level sportsmanship.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Guest MP Anand Kumar Gond said that such state-level sporting events in Bahraich provide a better platform for players from the district and the state to hone their talents. He said that sports teach young people discipline, self-confidence and leadership and that all possible support would be ensured from the central and state governments for the development of sports in Bahraich.
Guest of Honor MLA Subhash Tripathi said that sports competitions play a vital role in building a healthy society by keeping young people away from drugs and negative activities. He wished the players a bright future.
MLC Dr. Pragya Tripathi said that girls are excelling in every field of sports today and bringing glory to the district and the state. Such events inspire girls to move forward.
The Super Senior category matches particularly attracted the attention of sports enthusiasts, where experienced players conveyed the message that age is no barrier to sports through their fitness, technique, and sportsmanship.
District Olympic Association President Manish Malhotra and Secretary Manoj Gupta informed that
in the Under-15 girls’ singles category, Megan Prakash from Lucknow defeated last year champion Arunima Yadav from Bahraich. In the Under-15 girls’ doubles category the pair of Arunima Yadav (Bahraich) and Ridhima Yadav (Gorakhpur) defeated Amishi and Sachi (Lucknow).
In the Under-19 girls’ singles category, Priyanka Gautam (Lucknow) defeated Megan Prakash (Lucknow).
In the Under-19 girls’ doubles category, the pair of Arunima Yadav (Bahraich) and Priyanka (Lucknow) emerged victorious.
In the Under-15 boys’ doubles category, Abhay Rastogi and Loniben Pave (Lucknow) defeated Parth Anand and Shlok Raj (Jhansi).
In the Under-19 boys doubles category, the pair of Ayush Mishra (Ayodhya) and Prashank (Azamgarh) won the trophy.
In the Super Senior category, the pairs of Anil Jaiswal and Anutosh Kamal (90+ age group), Anil Jaiswal and Sanjeev Solanki (100+ age group) and Rana Anil Singh and Anil Jaiswal (110+ age group) were victorious.
Many dignitaries were present at the ceremony, including Sadar MLA representative Ashok Jaiswal, District Panchayat President representative Karanveer Singh, Payagpur MLA representative Nishank Tripathi, Olympic Association patron Ashok Matanhelia, District President of the Industry and Trade Association Vinod Agarwal, Chairman Kulbhushan Arora, State Vice President of the Badminton Association Gyanendra Pratap Singh and tournament convener Rana Anil Singh.
Former BJP District President Shyam Karan Tekdiwal played a special role in organizing the event.
Senior badminton players Rakesh Singh, Anil Jaiswal, Anutosh Kamal, Amit Srivastava, Rajesh Rastogi, Amarendra Singh, Jayas Yagyaseni, Aditya Mishra, Sanjeev Solanki, Ambuj Singh, Lokesh Tolani, Satyaprakash and other players contributed to the event.
Special Match Controller A.R. Ansari and Match Referee Mayank conducted the tournament according to the protocols of the UP Badminton Association. The program was successfully conducted by Radheshyam Gupta, an office-bearer of the Olympic Association.
