Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K Sharma held a comprehensive review meeting of the electricity department works at the Circuit House in Varanasi. During the meeting, he thoroughly assessed the department preparedness in view of the upcoming summer season. He sought detailed information from officials regarding the current status of Power supply, capacity enhancement, maintenance work, availability of transformers and the fault response system.
The Energy Minister directed that all substations must ensure the availability of essential equipment in adequate quantities and that rapid response teams be kept active to deal with any emergency situations. While reviewing the Progress of underground cabling work, he instructed that it be completed within the Determined timeline.
He also emphasized replacing dilapidated wires, resolving overloading issues and developing safe and Permanent structures in Place of temporary bamboo supports within a month. He further stressed the need to ensure balanced electricity distribution in both urban and rural areas to Prevent unnecessary Power cuts. He issued strict instructions to expedite maintenance work and warned that negligence or laxity by officials and employees would invite Strict Action.
During the meeting, the Minister also inquired in detail about the issue of Power tripping and directed officials to take effective measures to minimize it. He reviewed the Power supply situation at important locations such as the railway station, airport, Sankat Mochan Temple and Taj Hotel and directed that uninterrupted 24×7 Power supply be ensured at these Places. He further emphasized strengthening electricity arrangements at religious and tourist destinations so that devotees and visitors from across the country and abroad do not face any Inconvenience.
Additionally, he reviewed the Power supply situation across all districts of Purvanchal and instructed officials to work with full alertness, accountability, and coordination. He Clearly stated that Providing better, safe and uninterrupted electricity services to the Public is the government top Priority and any negligence in this regard will not be Tolerated.
The meeting was attended by MD (Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam) Shambhu Kumar, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers and other Concerned Officials.
