Sachin Malik: On the occasion of the completion of four successful years of the Dedicated Command and Control Center (DCCC), established for effective monitoring of urban amenities and sanitation systems in urban local bodies, Uttar Pradesh Minister for Urban Development and Energy, A.K. Sharma, Chaired a virtual meeting today.
It is Noteworthy that this Command and Control Center was established on April 4, 2022, based on the suggestion of Minister Sharma. Since its inception, the center has been actively functioning and has Played a significant role in improving the rankings of urban local bodies in the Swachhata Survey.
On this occasion, Minister A.K. Sharma congratulated the entire team, including Director Anuj Jha and Additional Director Ritu Suhas. He Stated that after the formation of the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on March 25, 2022, the center was established on April 4, 2022 and has been continuously operational with an integrated approach.
The Minister further informed that initially, the center did not have a helpline facility, but later, in coordination with the Central Government, a toll-free helpline number 1533 was introduced. Additionally, the ‘Sambhav’ online Portal is being operated, through which complainants and concerned officials can interact online face-to-face to ensure timely and quality resolution of issues. He described the ‘Sambhav’ Portal as an innovative Initiative.
Sharma emphasized that although significant attention has been given to sanitation in recent years, there are still areas that require improvement. He directed that urban local bodies with lower sanitation rankings should be analyzed and necessary corrective measures be taken. He also instructed officials to complete all necessary preparations in view of the upcoming monsoon season in a timely Manner.
Furthermore, he Stressed the importance of conducting Plantation drives and other sanitation campaigns in an effective and organized manner. He added that any initiative begins from one immediate surroundings, therefore, special attention Should be given to improving the living Standards of Street Vendors, the Poor, Sanitation workers and residents of Slum areas. Priority Should be given to their housing, Ayushman cards and sanitation Facilities.
On this occasion, Additional Director Ritu Suhas Presented detailed information about the functioning of the Command and Control Center. She informed that daily live monitoring is conducted through Zoom, and complaints are addressed through the statewide toll-free helpline number 1533 and the ‘Sambhav’ Portal.
She further Stated that under the Swachh Bharat Mission, various campaigns such as “Swachhata Hi Seva,” “Swachh Mahakumbh,” “Clean Toilet Campaign,” “Swachh Teerth,” “100-Day Mega Cleanliness Drive,” and “Plastic Eradication Campaign” are also monitored through the DCCC.
The Additional Director also highlighted that from 2022 till now, out of a total of 363,510 complaints received, 362,517 have been Resolved.
Additionally, approximately 7,000 hours of historic live monitoring have been completed, demonstrating the efficiency and effectiveness of the Center.
