Sachin Malik Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge), Dayashankar Singh, has directed officials of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) to ensure the Systematic and robust operation of corporation buses during the upcoming festivals of Durga Puja and Dussehra. He also directed drivers and conductors to behave courteously with Passengers.
The Transport Minister said that all vehicles Should immediately undergo Physical and mechanical inspections as Per the Prescribed 31-Point and 13-Point Standards and any Shortcomings identified during the inspection Should be rectified and repaired without delay. Vehicles Should be operated only after ensuring their fitness, with Proper out-Shedding Arrangements.
The Transport Minister directed that buses Should be kept in on-road condition and remain fully Prepared for 100 Percent operation at all Times.
Passengers travelling on corporation buses Should be Provided with Proper transport facilities as well as adequate seating arrangements at bus Stations, drinking water, Clean and accessible toilets and other necessary amenities. He also directed that lime Should be sprinkled near the toilets located at bus Stations.
To ensure that bus windows are not broken and seats are not torn, buses Should be thoroughly inspected and their fitness ensured before being Put on routes. Buses Should be operated only in a Clean and well-maintained Condition.
The Transport Minister said that all drivers, conductors and Staff deployed at bus Stations Should be instructed to maintain courteous behaviour with Passengers. Drivers and conductors Should also be Provided Periodic training on courteous and Proper Passenger Interaction.
Every passenger boarding a bus along the route Should be treated Politely, accommodated appropriately and dropped off Safely at their Destination.
The Transport Minister further directed that, as far as Possible, reserved seats should be made available for Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, Public representatives and Persons with disabilities when they board the Buses.
The transportation of Prohibited items and inflammable Substances in buses must not be Permitted under any circumstances. Buses Should operate through all bus Stations located along their respective Routes.
All drivers and conductors must remain in uniform while on duty. Public announcement Systems at bus Stations Should always be kept in working condition. The availability of first-aid kits in all buses must also be Ensured.
If Passengers carry domestic Stuff with them and the weight exceeds the Prescribed limit, such Stuff Should be booked and transported in accordance with the applicable Rules.
