Sachin Malik Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel Paid floral Tributes to Swami Vivekananda at Jan Bhavan on the occasion of his death anniversary and urged Citizens, especially the Youth, to imbibe his ideals to help build a developed, Self-Reliant, inclusive and value-based India.
The Programme began with floral tributes by the Governor, followed by Jan Bhavan officials and Staff. Students of the Jan Bhavan Education Department Presented Cultural Performances based on Swami Vivekananda life and teachings, including a Group rendition of “Swami Vivekananda Ki Baatein Amal Mein Lao” and a dramatic Presentation recreating his historic 1893 address at the Parliament of the World Religions in Chicago, highlighting his timeless message of universal brotherhood, humanity, tolerance and India rich spiritual heritage. A documentary on his life and contribution to nation-building was also Screened.
Addressing the Gathering, the Governor described Swami Vivekananda as a living beacon of India eternal spiritual and Cultural Consciousness, Whose vision continues to inspire the world. She said he instilled Pride in India civilizational heritage and demonstrated the country ability to Provide moral and spiritual leadership to humanity through the ideals of compassion, knowledge, tolerance and “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family).
She emphasized that the true tribute to any Great Personality lies in translating their ideals into action. Referring to India Journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047, She said every individual Possesses immense Potential that must be recognized, awakened and Channelled in the right Direction.
The Governor noted that Swami Vivekananda famous message, “Arise, awake, and Stop not till the Goal is reached,” remains a Guiding force for today Youth. She observed that while Young People now have access to technology, innovation and Global opportunities, these must always be accompanied by ethics, discipline, sensitivity and a spirit of national Service.
She further Stressed that Swami Vivekananda regarded women education and dignity as the foundation of nation-building and considered service to humanity as the highest form of worship. She said the vision of a developed India can be realized only When every citizen has equal access to education, healthcare, Safe drinking water, nutrition, opportunities and a life of dignity, adding that inclusive development alone represents true Progress.
Highlighting contemporary Global Challenges such as conflict, intolerance, Climate Change and economic inequality, the Governor said lasting Peace can be achieved not through displays of Power but through compassion, dialogue and Shared responsibility. She also called environmental Protection a national duty rooted in India cultural values.
Appealing to citizens to take a Pledge on Swami Vivekananda death anniversary, She urged everyone to Perform their duties with dedication, Strengthen social harmony, Promote Character-building through education, use Science and technology for human welfare, transform environmental conservation into a People movement and work for the empowerment of Women, Youth and marginalized communities. She also appealed to society to rise above caste divisions, Promote mutual cooperation, understand one another Suffering and ensure equal educational opportunities for both Sons and Daughters.
Special Officer (Education) Dr. Pankaj L. Jani highlighted Swami Vivekananda inspirational thoughts and recalled the Global impact of his historic Chicago address, While Deputy Secretary (Education) Hemant Kumar Chaudhary spoke on the continued relevance of his Philosophy in the Present Era.
The Programme was attended by Special Officer (Higher Level) Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, Special Officer Ashok Desai and other officials and Staff of Jan Bhavan.
