Sachin Malik: A Review Meeting on the Progress of installing rooftop Solar Power Plants on all Government and Semi-Government buildings across Uttar Pradesh was Chaired by the State Chief Secretary, S.P. Goyal.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasized that the rooftops of Government buildings Should be utilized to their maximum Potential for Solar Power Generation. He said this would help reduce dependence on conventional Electricity, lower Government expenditure on Power and Strengthen environmental conservation. He directed all departments to conduct surveys of their respective buildings and ensure the early installation of rooftop Solar Power Systems on all eligible Premises.
The Chief Secretary Stated that the Uttar Pradesh Government is Giving top Priority to building a Clean, Green and Self-Reliant energy ecosystem. He instructed every department to appoint a nodal officer to oversee the implementation of the Project and to regularly monitor its Progress. He also directed that any technical or administrative hurdles be resolved Promptly to ensure timely Execution.
He further said that the wider adoption of Solar energy would Significantly reduce Electricity bills for Government institutions While contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions and helping Uttar Pradesh Play a vital role in achieving the country environmental and sustainability Goals.
