Sachin Malik: Keeping in view the ongoing monsoon season and the Possibility of flooding, Uttar Pradesh Water Resources Minister Swatantra Dev Singh visited Tevaraipurwa village in Suratganj Development Block under Ramnagar Tehsil on Thursday to conduct an on-site inspection of flood-Prone areas. During the visit, he reviewed flood Protection arrangements with officials from the tehsil administration, the Irrigation Department and other concerned departments and issued necessary Directions.
The Minister inspected river embankments, erosion-Prone locations and drainage Systems to assess the Progress of flood Protection works. He instructed officials that no negligence would be tolerated during the rainy season and directed them to ensure that all flood Preparedness measures in vulnerable areas are completed within the Stipulated Time.
He Stated that the Uttar Pradesh Government is fully committed to Safeguarding the lives and Property of citizens. He emphasized the need for advance Preparedness in villages vulnerable to flooding, including the availability of boats, Relief materials, essential medicines, fodder for livestock and Safe Shelter facilities so that Prompt and effective action can be taken in the event of any Emergency.
The Minister further directed officials to maintain continuous monitoring of embankments and immediately undertake repair and Protective measures Wherever there is a risk of erosion or seepage. He also Stressed the importance of keeping flood control Posts fully operational and ensuring Close coordination among the Irrigation, Revenue, Police and other concerned Departments.
During the inspection, local residents apprised the Minister of various issues affecting the area. Listening to their concerns Seriously, he instructed the concerned officials to ensure timely and Quality resolution of the Problems. He also assured the Public that the State Government is fully Prepared to deal effectively with natural disasters such as floods.
Former Ramnagar MLA Sharad Kumar Awasthi, along with officials and Staff from the tehsil administration, the Irrigation Department, the Revenue Department and other concerned departments, was Present during the Inspection.
