Sachin Malik: Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Agricultural Export, Dinesh Pratap Singh, on Monday reviewed the Preparations for the Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival 2026 through a video conference. He directed officials to ensure that all arrangements for the festival, Scheduled to be held from July 3 to July 5 at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow are completed within the Stipulated timeline so that farmers, orchardists, exporters and entrepreneurs receive an excellent Platform to Showcase and Promote their Products.
The Minister instructed that exhibition Stalls Should highlight innovative developments in the Progressive horticulture Sector, enabling farmers to learn about the latest technologies, research, and innovations related to mango cultivation. He also emphasized the need to Provide comprehensive facilities for visiting farmers and Participants, including drinking water, Shaded areas, registration counters, information desks and adequate seating arrangements to ensure a comfortable Experience.
During the review meeting, Dinesh Pratap Singh stated that Uttar Pradesh is the country leading mango-Producing State and continues to rank first in the Production of a wide variety of mangoes. He directed officials to Prominently display hundreds of unique and rare mango varieties at the festival, including renowned cultivars such as Dashehari, Langra, Chausa, Amrapali, Ratol and Lucknow Safeda. He also called for dedicated exhibits Showcasing mango-based Processed Products value-addition technologies and export opportunities.
The Minister further informed that competitions would be organized under five categories, including different mango varieties, Preserved mango Products, mango-based delicacies, the best exhibition display and the highest exhibiting orchardist. He directed officials to organize technical sessions and workshops to educate farmers on modern Production techniques, Post-harvest management, Processing, branding, marketing and export Strategies. Arrangements Should also be made to honour outstanding mango Growers and orchardists for their contributions to the Sector.
The review meeting was attended virtually by Director Bhanu Prakash Ram, Finance Controller Sanjay Kumar Singh, Joint Directors Sarvesh Kumar and Rajeev Singh, along with divisional officers and District Horticulture Officers from across the State.
