Illegible instructions to officials for prompt resolution of public problems.
Lucknow: Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma held a public hearing at his camp office in Lucknow today, listening to the grievances of ordinary citizens. A large number of complainants presented their complaints to Minister Sharma. Most of these complaints related to electricity supply, bill corrections, transformer replacements, road construction, drainage, sewerage systems, park maintenance and municipal services. Minister Sharma took each complaint seriously and directed the concerned departmental officials to ensure prompt, transparent and quality resolution. He stated, “Quick resolution of public problems is our top priority. Officials should treat the public with sensitivity and negligence at any level will not be tolerated.”
Minister Sharma immediately took cognizance of a complaint from a complainant from Sultanpur district and called Riya Kejriwal, Managing Director of the Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam, directing her to resolve the issue immediately. He clearly stated, “No complaint should remain pending without resolution. Public convenience is our responsibility.” During the public hearing, Minister Sharma directed the officials present to review all pending complaints weekly and publicly display the updated status of each case in the office, to maintain transparency and accountability. He urged officials to regularly visit the field to gather real information about public problems. Minister Sharma also emphasized that public hearings are not merely a formality, but a means of direct communication and trust between the public and the government. He also instructed officials to ensure that any complaint is resolved not merely on paper, but through practical and lasting solutions.
Officials from the Urban Development and Energy Departments, engineers, executive officers, municipal corporation representatives and employees from related departments were present on the occasion.
