Sachin Malik Lucknow: Aam Aadmi Party Uttar Pradesh In-Charge and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Monday launched a Sharp attack on both the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Government and the Narendra Modi-led Central Government during a Press conference. He raised serious Questions over the alleged handling of the tragic fire incident in Aliganj, Lucknow and the alleged corruption and theft related to donations at the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Aliganj Fire Tragedy: ‘SIT Is Merely A Tool for Cover-Up’
Expressing deep Grief over the death of 15 People in the devastating fire at a computer coaching centre in Aliganj, Sanjay Singh alleged that the building had already been ordered for demolition in 2016.
“If the demolition order was issued in 2016, and the Yogi Government has been in Power for nearly nine and a half of the last ten Years, how did this illegal and unsafe building continue to operate? Who Protected it? A high-level investigation is essential,” he Said.
He also criticized the condition of the State Fire Department, alleging that fire tenders failed to reach the spot on time despite repeated emergency calls. He Claimed that every major fire incident, whether in Delhi or Lucknow, is followed only by inquiries that Produce little Accountability.
He demanded that the Uttar Pradesh Government:
1. Conduct a comprehensive review of the Fire Department, Substantially Increase its budget, and equip it with modern firefighting vehicles, pipelines and equipment. Instead of merely suspending negligent officials, criminal cases Should be registered against them and those responsible Should be sent to Jail.
2. Increase the compensation announced for the victims’ families, Stating that compensation of ₹2 lakh and ₹5 lakh is “a cruel Joke.” He urged both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister to Provide dignified financial assistance to the bereaved Families.
3. He further informed that he met injured survivor Lavpreet at the hospital, who said the fire spread so rapidly from the lower floors that there was no Chance to escape. Another injured Student, Jayant, remains admitted in the ICU.
Allegations of Donation Theft and Misappropriation at Ram Temple
In the second Part of the Press conference, Sanjay Singh directly accused the Ram Temple Trust and BJP leaders of betraying the faith of millions of Hindus.
“This is not an ordinary theft at Lord Ram temple. Champat Rai and members of the Trust allegedly committed this theft for the benefit of the BJP,” he Alleged.
Presenting what he described as documentary evidence, Singh Claimed:
🔸️Land worth ₹2 crore was Purchased for ₹18.5 Crore.
🔸️Land worth ₹3 crore was Purchased for ₹24 C
🔸️Land worth ₹9 crore was Purchased for ₹55.47 Crore.
He further alleged that around 200 kilograms of Silver, valued at nearly ₹7 crore, donated by the Jewellers Association and the Sindhi community, along with valuable necklaces, 1260 Gold and Silver foundation bricks, and even the sacred Padukas (holy footwear) of Lord Ram, had allegedly Gone Missing.
Drawing a historical comparison, he remarked that While Bharat ruled Ayodhya by Placing Lord Ram Padukas on the throne for 14 Years, “the BJP has allegedly Stolen those very sacred Padukas.”
‘Neither for Ram Nor for Justice’: Sanjay Singh Targets SIT
Responding to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Statement asking him to wait 15 days and submit evidence to the SIT, Sanjay Singh Claimed that he had already written to SIT Chairman Vijay Vish Pant and member Kiran, IG Lucknow Range, on 20 June, requesting an appointment to submit evidence related to the alleged land transactions involving Sultan Ansari and Alok Bansal.
“Today is June 23, yet the SIT has not even accepted the evidence. Instead, it submitted its report directly to Sanjay Prasad, Who himself is an ex-officio member. This Clearly indicates that the investigation is merely an exercise in Whitewashing. This SIT is neither for Lord Ram nor for Justice—it exists only to Protect those accused of misappropriating donations,” he alleged.
Arvind Kejriwal to Visit Ayodhya on June 25
Sanjay Singh also announced that Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will visit Ayodhya on June 25 to seek the blessings of Lord Ram.
