Sachin Malik: The Uttar Pradesh Government is set to organize the Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival 2026 from July 3 to July 5 at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow, with the objective of Promoting the State renowned mango varieties at national and international levels While encouraging mango Growers, exporters and entrepreneurs. In addition, an International Buyer-Seller Meet will be held on July 4 at Jan Bhavan Lucknow.
Sharing details of the Event, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Agricultural Export, Dinesh Pratap Singh said that the Mango Festival would Provide a new direction to the State horticulture and agricultural economy. He Stated that the Uttar Pradesh Government has been continuously working to Promote mango Production, Processing and exports. With the support of the Yogi Government, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a leading State in horticulture and is Setting new benchmarks in the Sector.
The Minister informed that Progressive orchardists, exporters, agricultural experts and entrepreneurs from Uttar Pradesh and various other States will Participate in the festival. Hundreds of unique and rare mango varieties will be exhibited, including famous cultivars such as Dashehari, Langra, Chausa, Amrapali, Rataul, and Lucknow Safeda, along with several colorful and specialty varieties. The festival will also Showcase Processed mango Products, value-addition technologies and export Opportunities.
As Part of the festival, competitions will be organized across multiple categories, including various mango varieties (7 categories and 50 Classes), Preserved mango Products (11 Classes), mango-based delicacies, as well as awards for the Best Exhibit and Best Exhibitor Orchardist.
Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh highlighted that Uttar Pradesh is the leading mango-Producing State in India, with its mangoes widely appreciated for their Quality across the World. India cultivates mangoes over approximately 2.5 Million hectares, Producing nearly 23.5 million metric tonnes annually. Uttar Pradesh alone accounts for around 3.27 lakh hectares under mango cultivation and Produces nearly 6.2 Million metric tonnes, making it the country largest mango Producer.
The festival will Provide farmers with valuable information on modern Cultivation techniques, Post-Harvest management, Processing, branding, marketing and export opportunities. It will also feature technical Sessions, workshops and competitions. Outstanding mango Growers and orchardists will be felicitated for their Contributions.
The Horticulture Minister appealed to the People of Uttar Pradesh to Participate in large numbers and experience the State rich mango heritage and agricultural traditions While encouraging farmers and orchardists. He said the festival would not only Strengthen the Global identity of Uttar Pradesh mangoes but also contribute Significantly to increasing farmers’ incomes and boosting the State agriculture-based Economy.
