Sachin Malik: In view of the upcoming Swachhta Survey, Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma held a review meeting today at Sangam Auditorium, Lucknow. Various Points for improved Performance in the Swachhta Survey were discussed in detail. Minister Sharma said that a review Should be conducted to determine Which efforts and actions contributed to Lucknow third-Place finish in the Swachhta Survey and Which Shortcomings Prevented the City from Achieving the first-Place Rank.
Instructing officials, Minister Sharma said that School renovation works Should be completed on Priority and effective action Should be taken to improve citizen feedback in the complaint redressal System. He also directed for Prompt Resolution of Sewage Problems and Immediate Removal of Garbage accumulated outside hospitals and large Hotels.
He said that Public Participation is essential to maintaining a Clean City. All councilors Should conduct Cleanliness and Public awareness campaigns in their respective areas through Mohalla Sabhas and committees. He said that Garbage heaps Should not be visible in any ward and that municipal officials Should ensure regular Monitoring.
While directing for a special Cleanliness drive in commercial areas, Minister Sharma said that traders Should be encouraged to compulsorily keep dustbins. He said that Cleanliness is not just a Government campaign, but a Collective responsibility of Society. If everyone works together, Lucknow can be ranked first in the country in the Cleanliness Survey.
