New Delhi : Ace India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Virat Kohli’s fitness is a major topic of discussion, with RCB all set to take on the Lucknow Super Giants in their fifth match of IPL 2026. Kohli had walked off the field with an ankle niggle during the game against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 12.
But Kohli did attend training, took part in practice and spent time interacting with teammates in his usual relaxed manner. The only concern was that he was seen with his left knee strapped during the session.
In a video shared by Lucknow Super Giants, Kohli was seen walking with his left knee strapped as he met New Zealand great Kane Williamson. He exchanged greetings with the latter, now part of LSG’s support staff and also shared a hug with captain Rishabh Pant.
Despite the strapping, Kohli spent considerable time in the nets with an extended batting session, easing immediate concerns. He has scored 179 runs in four games this season at a brilliant average of 59.66.
In their previous match against the Mumbai Indians, Kohli scored a 38-ball fifty, smacking five boundaries and a six. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru will again bank on their strong batting unit as they aim to get past an inconsistent Lucknow Super Giants team and break free from the mid-table logjam.
Kohli (162), Phil Salt (178), Rajat Patidar (214), Tim David (221) and Devdutt Padikkal (201) have put all comers through the wringer in IPL 2026.
These five batters have hammered a brilliant 52 sixes in just four games, the most by any side this season, taking power-hitting to another level.
As a result, they have never scored less than 200 in this IPL till now, an apt reflection of their marauding batting ideology.
