Sachin Malik: Uttar Pradesh Yogi government is strengthening the foundation of education in the state through Anganwadi centres. In the financial year 2025-26, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) kits have been distributed to more than 20,000 upgraded Anganwadi centres. The state government believes that the age of three to six years is the most sensitive stage for a child intellectual development.
If quality learning materials and scientific teaching methods are introduced at this stage, it strengthens the child educational journey in the future.
Yogi government is Providing ₹39,000 to each Anganwadi centre for ECCE kits. The National Education Policy-2020 has also emphasized ECCE for children aged 3 to 6 years and incorporated it into the foundational stage of school Education.
Under ECCE, resources such as Pre-school kits, the ECCE manual (Pahal), an annual activity calendar and children activity booklets are Provided. In addition, sets of six storybooks Published by the National Book Trust (NBT) are being distributed along with booklets based on Teaching Learning Material (TLM).
Through ECCE kits, children get the opportunity to learn through Play, which helps in developing their intellectual, Physical and mental abilities. These kits Promote activity-based learning.
Colorful charts, educational toys, Puzzles and cognitive development materials help children learn in a simple and engaging manner. The government emphasizes that education should not become a burden but should be enjoyable. Through Playful learning, children develop knowledge of letters, number recognition and social behavior. This approach also enhances children curiosity, imagination and Expression.
The state government does not want Anganwadi centres to remain limited to nutrition distribution alone. They are being gradually equipped with modern facilities.
The use of advanced equipment, improved furniture, safe environments and the availability of trained workers are transforming these centres. This change reflects the government effort to Place early Childhood education at the center of mainstream Policy. Anganwadi centres are now developing into small learning hubs in villages and Neighborhoods.
Yogi government is giving equal importance to Children intellectual, Physical and mental development. By integrating nutrition, health check-up and education, a comprehensive development model has been created.
