New Delhi: High-profile deals, including Sukhoi Su-57 fifth-generation jet fighters and S-400 air defence systems, will be on the agenda during the bilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi later this week, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Tuesday.
“It (Su-57) is the best plane in the world. It’s not an exaggeration. The issue will be on the agenda of President Putin’s India visit. But won’t say more. Let’s not discuss details, as we have a lot of competitors in the business. In a just competition, somebody can hardly compete with us,” Peskov said.
Peskov held the news conference as a curtain raiser ahead of President Putin’s visit to New Delhi on December 4 and 5 for the annual India-Russia summit with Prime Minister Modi.
The Russian official said Russia is transferring some tech to India, and a joint production will be launched soon. “We will be ready to share whatever can be shared with India will be shared,” Peskov underlined.
Peskov said small and medium nuclear reactors will also be a subject of discussion between the two leaders. Russia has experience in producing these small reactors and is ready to supply the technology to its Indian friends, he added.
