Bahraich: The statement made by IAS officer Santosh Verma of Madhya Pradesh, which reportedly hurt the sentiments of the Brahmin community, is gaining widespread attention. In this regard, representatives of the community have submitted a memorandum addressed to the President of India through the District Magistrate of Bahraich.
The memorandum was submitted to the City Magistrate Rajesh Kumar under the leadership of Satyendra Shukla, State President of the National Brahmin Federation, and Shivankar Shukla, District President. The memorandum stated that the statement made by IAS Santosh Verma undermines women’s respect, safety, and existence, causing deep anger within the community.
The representatives emphasized that the statement has deeply hurt the community sentiments and called it extremely unfortunate. The memorandum requested the President to ensure a high-level investigation into the actions of the concerned officer and, if found guilty, to take legal and departmental action. It also urged preventive measures against such statements in the future to protect the dignity of all communities.
Key social activists who submitted the memorandum included Abhishek Dwivedi, Anuj Kumar Gond, Himanshu Mishra, Ankur Pandey (Advocate), and Aditya Mishra.
